Here is another tiny boston that I did last night after work. I must say, I find working on this small scale extremely challenging...I find it hard to be loose and still relatively detailed on this tiny piece of canvas.
Here are couple of new cute little boston creations. In the last few days I was finishing up on some commissions and painting bostons is a good way for me to just to have some fun and relax.
" Who? ...Me?" - 6x6 Oil on Masonite Sold
"Here is looking at you..." - ACEO oil on canvas paper
These were finished last night, but it was way to dark to get a good photo. Few months back I did this composition in a larger size. I thought it would also be perfect for a small (tiny) size...
Here is the 3rd and final little Nuthatch. It's been really fun working on these tiny feathered creatures. Whats next? Maybe Chickadees or Bluebirds...We'll see...
"Red-Breasted Beauty #3" - 2.5x3.5 Oil on Gessoed Mat Boards
.....I will have time again to paint - Last night I had enough time to pre-gessoe a bunch of ACEO-size boards. This morning I squeezed out enough time to paint this little beauty. I don't see too many of the red breasted nuthatches around here, but when they show up they are awfully pretty.
"Red-Breasted Beauty" - 2.5x3.5 Oil on Gessoed Mat Board
Could not resist painting this little guy in he ACEO format. My time to paint this week has been EXTREMELY limited - It seems like everybody wants a piece of me this week (That includes Uncle Sam!)
Since, I still had some paint leftover on my palette from the previous boston painting I decided to create a second one in the ACEO format.
.
This morning, I met up with the Boston Terrier Rescue volunteer to drop off the larger painting that I donated to them as part of the Art for the Animals project. I got to meet Dolly - One of the Bostons that is currently in care of the organization - What can I say - She was SOOOOO CUTE--- totally adorable. Her future adopters are truly blessed.
This is my first little ACEO panting. It was really weird working so small, but I am sure that I will do more of these. They are CUTE!!! Christine MacLellan at Rushingwater Studios has been doing a few of these and I just had to try one...
