DAISIES IN RAKU POT and DEMO - SOLD

This one was painted for my baby sister..She is an avid collector of my florals....Thanks Jo...

DAISIES IN RAKU
16" x 20" Oil on Stretched Canvas

SOLD

One of the stars of the painting. A Raku Pot by a local Artist, Margaret Griffin.

Step 1: Quick Sketch with transparent orange.

Step 2: Starting to lay in transparent colors... Using magenta, transp. brown, transp. orange, indian yellow and sap green.

Notice that I changed my mind on the location of the two fallen daisies. That happens all the time once you see the painting evolve.

Step 3: Starting to introduce Opaques to complete the painting...

This is the beginnings of a sunflower painting...Same Raku Pot....Stay tuned for the final results...

DRAMATIC ROSE FLOWER VASE - SOLD

Here is a very dramatic little flower arrangement. It has an incredible depth of colors that is hard to capture in a photo. This one has been done in with acrylics and varnished with a semi-gloss finish...

PALETTE KNIFE BRIGHT FLORAL BOUQUET PAINTING by OLGA WAGNER

Here is one to pacify my family...They are always pushing me towards florals...I started this one few months back - last night I added a few more finishing touches and Voila!

Even though it is painted on a gallery wrap style canvas and can be hung unframed, I think it does look better framed...

ROSES BUSH in PALETTE KNIFE - SOLD

Guess what - for all you non-animal aficionados...Here is a rose bush in all it's glory. We have couple of really pretty rose bushes that require ZERO maintenance and my hubby let's them be. They are truly wild and free! They bloom constantly and add a splash of color against the white plastic fence. LOVE THEM!

PINK DAISY FLOWERS- KNIFE PAINTING

I had a really rough night last night. One of my kitties did not feel good and the other walked around crying because of thunderstorms. He is a big boy, but is absolutely petrified of thunderstorms. Kind of strange, considering that he was feral for about 3 -4 years.

This is a little beauty that I created in the middle of he night. the inspiration for this palette knife painting was a bunch of African Daisies that my hubby planted this spring (see the photo below). I really need to take more photos of our backyard. it looks awesome with all the flowers and bushes in bloom. Unlike me, my husband does have a green thumb!

ABSTRACT DAISY FLOWERS

I just love the spring weather that we are having! My husband brought home some really pretty African Daisies and planted them in our back yard. They were the inspiration for this abstracted and highly textured painting... I wander how this small painting would translate into a larger one? Must think about that one...

Nighttime Zen

I was feeling particularly stressed last night and when I found a photo of Buddha (from a previous Different Strokes challenge) - I knew that I had to paint it...The painting started with two flower vases, but I felt like it became too cluttered (almost like my life at the moment!), so I wiped of the half and left it feeling very simplistic...
