ORIGINAL CONTEMPORARY FLORAL PEONY PAINTING in ACRYLICS by OLGA WAGNER - SOLD

Here is the finished floral painting that I have been working since last weekend...This one was incredibly hard to photograph. No matter how hard I tried I could not do the depth and texture of this painting Justice.

"Loving Color" Day 12- ORIGINAL FLOWER ORCHID PAINTING in OILS by OLGA WAGNER

Day 12 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge organized by Leslie Saeta brings an elegant Orchid painting.

I must admit...I cheated a little last night... By the time I got done with work and house chores, I was too exhausted to paint. I took this painting from last year and freshened it up a bit.

TULIPS IS A VASE - SOLD

I have painted these three tulips before. This one is done in a slightly larger size and also on a different substrate. I normally use either canvas or canvas panel, as I really like the feel of the rough texture of canvas. This painting is done on a Gessoe Board by Ampersand which is very, very smooth.  Painting on this slippery surface was an interesting experience and I will  try it again at some point... I don't know if it's the smooth surface, but I found this painting extremely hard to photograph.  I could not get rid of the glare to save my life...

This beauty will be making a cross country trip to the Sunny California !

WHITE ORCHIDS on DARK by OLGA WAGNER

This is based on another reference photo from the wetcanvas image gallery. Even though, I love Orchids and have couple plants, they are not in the best shape for being my muses. I definitely was not blessed with a green thumb...

CLASSIC BEAUTY
8" x 8" Oil on Museum Quality Panel

Available 150

Here I used Transparent Orange and a liner brush to do a quick sketch. It is very, very loose at this point..

Transparent under painting has been completed and I am starting to work with opaques to lay in the detail on the flowers.

And here is the preview of what's to come!  One of my kitties, Pugsley, was not feeling very well last night and I could not sleep. I started this bad boy around 2am, but did not want to continue... I am hoping to work on him tonight and finish him (most likely around 2 am)...

RED TULIPS IN CLAY VASE by OLGA WAGNER -SOLD

I found the reference photo for this gorgeous arrangement on wetcanvas. It cought my eye, because of the warm and classic feel. I decided to use mainly transparent paints for the background to keep the painterly feel of the painting. The opaques came into play in the flowers and pots and greenery.

Again...I started with transparent orange to sketch out the shapes...

SUNFLOWER DAISY FLOWER ARRANGEMENT by OLGA WAGNER

Taking the workshop with Dreama totally re-energized my mojo ans infused it with new life. Her message to me was that I need to paint what brings ME joy and that the joy would come through in my work.  Well, I LOVE flowers and flower arrangements, I always have fresh flowers on my coffee table and my garden (thanks to my hubby) has a large variety of flowering plants and bushes. I guess, what I am trying to say that you will be seeing more florals from me in the future!

THE MORE THE MERRIER
12" x 12" Oil on Museum Quality Canvas Panel

I started with a quick sketch in transparent orange.

In this step, I laid in all the shapes using transparent colors. notice the bright and yummy colors that I used to cover the canvas

Here is my new and greatest Glass Palette.  I took an old and beat up floater frame with a grey gessoed panel, then had Lowes cut me a piece of glass to fit over the panel. I used some silicone to seal the edges and viola, it's perfect!  The glass size is about 22x18, which gives me a large area to mix my paint...

PURPLE HAYCINTH IN OILS by OLGA WAGNER

This painting follows the one from yesterday. Actually I completed both paintings yesterday, one after the other. First, I played with acrylics to loosen myself up a bit and then proceeded with the oils.

This is such an incredibly soothing color combination. The purples and blues against the delicate nature of naples yellow works so well together...

SUNFLOWER AND CARNATION FLORAL by OLGA WAGNER

Here is another floral that I believe is 99.99% complete...I have not varnished this baby yet...It is hanging on my wall as I contemplate the blue background..I really love the overall feel and look and that is why I have taken the painting of the easel and hung it on the wall...Originally I was going for a more washed out blue, but the color fiend in me took over...As always...

ABSTRACTED TULIP FLORAL PAINTING BY OLGA WAGNER

I am working on a few florals for my upcoming March and April Shows. While my animal paintings and portraits are on the side of Contemporary Realism, my florals tend to gravitate towards the Abstract realm. Here we have a trio of pink tulips on a very contemporary background with lots of texture. This painting went through many color changes, before it finally spoke to me..Hope you like it too!
