COLORFUL COW PAINTING by OLGA WAGNER

YES..Another COW! I tried keeping my strokes loose and painterly on this little beauty. I used magenta as the base color ---- How FUN!

I am also working on finalizing the date for my July workshop. Looks like July 21 or 28 are currently open. Safe Haven for Cats have graciously agreed to let me use their facility. Who knows, we might even paint a kitty....

ROOSTER IN PRIMARY COLORS by OLGA WAGNER

Looks like this coming week will be even wilder. I have 2 interviews set up for Monday and Tuesday and working on scheduling another one. Needles to say, I am spending this weekend reviewing some more intricate aspects of Java and C++..Not fun, but necessary...

Here is the little rooster that I was planning on working on last week, but never got to it. This boy has some palette knife work on him too..Right in the head area... I felt like he needed a bit more texture...

I love this little man...

COW SERIES IN THE MAKING

Here is the second painting in my "Prevailing Atmosphere" series... I am not sure that I am 100% happy with the name of this series - must sleep and ponder that some more. I am working on this series for my solo exhibition, which will be held in March at the Focal Point Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC.

The background is highly textured, which gives an interesting feel to the overall painting!

COW ON TEXTURED BACKGROUND - SOLD

I took a slightly different approach with this oil painting. I first started with a textured acrylic background... Once dry, I proceeded working on the cow with oils. As always - it pays to try different things - I really like the end result! This one would make a great Christmas for a true cow connoisseur...

BULL in PALETTE KNIFE - SOLD

As promised, I got to work on Mr. Bull. I LOVE the way he came out. The colors and textures pop on this MAN.

Pugsley is still a very sick little boy. His white blood count was pretty high and he feels pretty rotten - most likely due to the inflammation of his pancreas . He has been at the vets two days in a row now...At least he likes to travel in the car - he goes into a relaxation trance as soon as the car starts moving - it's weird, but kind of cool!

RED ROOSTER CLOSE-UP

I found a cool rooster photo on the wetcanvas (image library) site. It looks like they are having a very serious conversation those two. Here is a closeup of the red boy...I did take some artistic licence with the colors on him and made him RED!
