Horse Show on the brain equals one wild PONY!
I painted a similar horse few days back, only much smaller and with brushed. This one is 20" by 20" and is done 100% with palette knifes - Fun...Fun...Fun...
If you are in Raleigh next weekend and want to watch some great horse competition, swing by the Hunt horse Complex and say hi... Here is the website for the event www.cdi-raleigh.com.

SLEEPING GRAY CAT - SOLD
It has been couple of days since I posted. It actually took me two sitting to complete this boy...There is just not enough time in the day to accomplish everything that I would like. I am helping organize an International Level horse show this coming week and everything in my daily routine, including sleep, has been thrown upside down... There days when I feel like a human pinata!
Here is a cute gray little boy...Jeeeze...I wish I could swap places with this little man! Look at this face - He has absolutely no worries and concerns (at least while he is sleeping).

PINK DAISY FLOWERS- KNIFE PAINTING
I had a really rough night last night. One of my kitties did not feel good and the other walked around crying because of thunderstorms. He is a big boy, but is absolutely petrified of thunderstorms. Kind of strange, considering that he was feral for about 3 -4 years.
This is a little beauty that I created in the middle of he night. the inspiration for this palette knife painting was a bunch of African Daisies that my hubby planted this spring (see the photo below). I really need to take more photos of our backyard. it looks awesome with all the flowers and bushes in bloom. Unlike me, my husband does have a green thumb!

This a sneak peak of what is to come tomorrow... I am hoping to be able to finish this cuteness tonight. I am thinking the name "Solid Foundation" would go nicely with this image.
The "kitten season" is in full swing and most rescuers will tell you that this year seems to be especially bad - at least here in North Carolina. As with all my paintings - a percentage of sale proceeds will be donated to a local rescue group

White Cat Redo
This is larger version of a painting that I did as part of my Faces of Rescue project. It features Snowball, a kitty that was rescued in 2008. When he was rescued he was about 12 yrs of age and weighed in at only 7lb... Now, several years later he is at a whopping 14lb. It is amazing what a good home can do for the health and well being of a kitty.

SLUMBER SERIES - BUFF DEVON REX
This is one of my "babies", Nash. He is a purebred Devon Rex and epitomizes "Royalty".
He could very well be the STAR of the great children's story by Hans Andersen, "Princess and the Pea", where only the real princess could feel the pea through 20+ mattresses. Nobody but a real princess could have such a delicate skin. Well - That's my Nash and I LOVE him...

SLUMBER SERIES - DOG with TOY- SOLD
Even though I am definitely a "Cat Person", I love dogs too. I grew up in a family that always treasured animals and was lucky enough to grow up with dogs, cats, hamsters and fish. Here is a painting of a Miniature Pinsher (Min Pin) who is ready for a nappy nap with his most favorite stuffed teddy near. Happy dreams little dude!

SLEEPY TIME - Gray Tuxedo Cat
Do you ever wander what they dream of? They sure do look peaceful doing it...
The muse for this painting was Roman... A gorgeous gray tuxedo that adopted through Safe Haven for Cats. This boy really lucked out and went to a "dream home" with one of Safe Haven's volunteer.
