BALLET TOE SHOES - STILL LIFE

Here is a small still life that I worked on few weeks back. Sadly, I did not find any time to devote to painting this past weekend. Saturday was my wedding anniversary and I owed it to my super hubby to spend it with him and not in my studio. Sunday, I got the urge to redecorate my work area (my dining room), so I went shopping for some book shelves. Found some nice ones at Lowes that fit perfectly on both sides of my curio cabinet. See the photo below. ..

Here is another one from my ballet series. I had big plans for this weekend. Wanted to finish couple of my larger paintings and maybe do couple of the little ones, but I came down with a cold and this one was the only one that I could manage. This one was done on a gessoed masonite board that I first covered with a layer of copper acrylic. I have been using the copper background in a few of my paintings and love the look and the ease of painting on it. Very easy on the eyes!

I know a very few people who would label dancers as athletes, but professional ballerinas get hurt just as often and suffer just as serious injuries as athletes in contact sports. They dance though their pain and all we see is the beauty of the performance - They are truly incredible!!!

Here is another.... I have been working on several large Cat paintings for the Tuxedo Cat Ball and these little shoe works make for a nice distraction from all the cat eyes staring at me.
