FACES OF RESCUE 100 CATS: Penny 7/100

"Penny" - 8x8 Oil on Panel

When I sat down to work on Penny, I had a vision of a Pastel-Like painting. Somewhere in the middle of the process I changed the direction an went for COLOR. I am not happy with this photo (even though it is pretty close). The photo has a bit of a white feel to it. In reality it is much more creamy - I will try an get a better one tomorrow.

Penny's Story:
While visiting a shelter in search for a kitten, her owner's family stumbled upon this cute little white ball of fur. The kitten was scared, and hid in the back of her cage. And she had a slight cough coming from her teeny-tiny throat. She needed to be rescued. She was the one. So, mom and big sis helped the owner go through the adoption process.

When Penny entered the apartment, it instantly became her home. She had medication for her cough and in no time she went from sleeping off her cold to running and jumping all over the apartment. That timid kitten in the small cage soon took advantage of all her new space and grew up to be a perfectly behaved cat (most of the time ;) And she doesn't hesitate to meow for some petting or extra attention. Every day she greats her owner at the door and makes the house a "home".
