I believe this one is the 12th little painting in the 12 Days of Grey Series. I had the hardest time getting a decent photograph of this bad boy! It really looks awesome in person...
Day 7 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge organized by Leslie Saeta brings another cow selfie!
Oh Boy! Did I have FUN with this one :)
I originally went for a light blue and green background, but it did not do that NOSE justice...It called for something less subdued and more lively...Once I settled on this background the painting just melded together...
After two failed attempts at owl paintings, I had to resort to what I know and love...Cows!... This one is a bit more subdued from my other paintings, I guess I still don't feel bright and upbeat...
Meet Louise...Cow of a different style... I have been feeling a bit stressed this past week and needed to seriously unwind in the studio. This little cow gave me the opportunity to be more free and abstract...
That blue-grey that you see on the cow is Gamblin's Torrit Grey (2014). Last year the shade was way too dark and too depressing for my taste...But this year's shade is scrumptious! Absolutely Love it...
I am getting so behind on my 30 painting challenge.... I do have 3 cows that have been finished and will be posted in the next 3 days. That brings my total to 15.... Maybe I can make to to 20?
This boy was painted on an Ampersand Panel with a strong base of transparent paints...Love the way he came out!
This boy is a bit subdued in it's color scheme... I just love this shade of green and have been trying to push into my latest paintings....It's a mixture of Purple and Cad Yellow Lemon -
Maybe it's the cooler weather, but these colors seem to scream fall to me....
