12x12 Floral

I worked on this one last night (after finishing the leaf painting)...I find painting relaxes and soothes my mind and helps with a good night sleep. Hopefully it will help with my blood pressure too... Here we have a black-eyed suzan...One in a series that I am working on.

Back in the saddle...

"Left Behind" - 6x12 oil on board
Available

...or more like back in front of the easel...The horse show is done and over with and my house is "almost" back to normal. There are still few horse show related boxes in my living room and my suitcase is still out in the foyer (that one is waiting for my trip up north for my sister's wedding), but most of the stuff has been put away for next year...

To get back into the painting routine, I wanted to start with something that would bring warmth and relaxation into my life - Nothing better then a simple beach scene. Simple, relaxing and uncluttered...

Different Strokes Challenge

"Red Locks" - 8x8 Oil on Masonite
.
I painted this piece as a part of Karin Jurick's end of the year challenge for her "Different Strokes From Different Folks" blog. A total of 130 artists swapped photos and all resulting paintings will be posted on the blog. I don't know who this beautiful woman is, but I know that I would kill for her gorgeous red locks... I have serious hair envy!

I just found out that this unbelievably fabulous hair belongs to Gretchen Matta from Mesa AZ. Her work is absolutely incredible. Click here to visit her Blog.
