ACRYLIC ABSTRACT

WOW...What a weekend...

Saturday I helped with the setup of the dressage arena for the Equestrian Special Olympics. I met so many wonderful volunteers and also competitors...It was a pleasure to help out at this phenomenal event...Will be there again next year...

Sunday was my first outing at an Art Festival. The weather was perfect...People were great...Definitely worth the time and energy that went into the prep, setup and take-down...Hope to be back next year...

This abstract was finished before the weekend, but I just had no time to post it here. This is a "brother" to the abstract in my last post. Slightly different color scheme, but same approach.

This one is rather LARGE - 18' x 36"...I painted it with intent to hang it horizontally, but it looks pretty cool vertically. The photo doesn't do it justice...It looks so much more AWESOME in person!

4 weeks after getting the flu, I am still experiencing issues with my lungs and painting with oils seems to aggravate the situation (just a little)... So to loosen up a little and have some fun I decided to try out some new Flow Acrylics from Matisse.They have some really yummy colors!...

This is a previous "abstract" failure that I wiped down and then used a pastel pencil to give me a rough layout for the kitty. After finishing the big tuxedo cat, I was still in the black and white state of frame - thus the color choices for this one!
