Tux Brothers
Meet Max and Mickey...Two brothers perfectly attired for the upcoming Holiday season. I love the contrast of their black and white coats against the beautiful burned orange. I used Grumbacher Brown Pink mixed with Gamblin radiant white for the background. I am really falling in love with the Grumbacher's version of Brown Pink- I think because it's really not pink.

Brutus
I have been very slow to post...Sorry... I have been keeping myself pretty busy with Christmas-Time commissions...Portion of some of these commissions will be donated to the Boston Terrier Rescue of NC (www.btrnc.org)... Bostons are the CUTEST!!!
This is a memorial portrait of Brutus - A big boy who passed away not to long ago - sure, he was slightly LARGER than your average Boston, but was still an awesome cutie..

Dreamer
This is an older painting after a new facelift. There is nothing like a nice bright background to make the doggie face pop of the canvas. My mom's dog was the rough model for this one - Since it was not a commission, I did not worry about having to replicate each and every spot.

Couple more Knife Paintings
Wind turbine in a crisp mountain setting.
I painted this leaf couple of weeks ago. It's more loose and more abstract than the others. Originally, I was not totally sure about it, but it has grown on me since.

Stretched Thin...
Last couple of weeks have been really crazy...I think I have way to many commitments on my plate and don't have the time to even think about starting a painting... Last week I spent about 12+ hours in the car either transporting rescued cats or going to care for the cats...I am stretched so thin that I my body is starting to tell me to back off - Today, I am planning to take it easy and take care of my self.. Time to make some tea!!!

12x12 Floral
I worked on this one last night (after finishing the leaf painting)...I find painting relaxes and soothes my mind and helps with a good night sleep. Hopefully it will help with my blood pressure too... Here we have a black-eyed suzan...One in a series that I am working on.

It's fall
In a last few days, I collected a few uniquely colored leaves - here is one of the red ones I picked up in a parking lot at work. Originally I started this painting with brushes, but sometime midstream, I switched to the palette knife.
