WHITE LILIES on RED by OLGA WAGNER

I painted these two gorgeous lilies as part of the challenge posted on PaintAndDrawTogether. This is my first contribution to this challenge - I just could not resist trying my hand at such stunning flowers.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
8 x 8  Oil on Canvas Panel

Available  150 with Easel

In this step, I laid in all the shapes using transparent colors. notice that the whole canvas is covered and I really paid close  attention to the values of the shapes.

Here I am already progressing to applying the more opaque colors - always working on the entire canvas - at this point I don't want to get stuck in one particular area. By concentrating on just one area you take a risk of loosing sight of the BIG picture and how the shapes and values talk to each other.

Here I am basically done with the major areas. All is left is some fine tuning and adding a bit of pizzaz to the painting by strategically applying dabs of color throughout.
